The Beach
Because Koh Samed is actually a national park, tourism has been controlled on this island in comparison with other islands in Thailand .Access to the island is only by boat, the number of visitors tends to be limited largely to residents of the Resorts at Ao Prao. The beachfront is formed in a slight curve with gentle hills rising from a rocky base at either end. An absolute scenic delight. Here, you can enjoy all beach activities in safe crystal-clear warm waters that are a joy to swim in.

Ao Prao Resort offers you a restaurant to dream about. Located on a spacious balcony overlooking the sea and shaded by a number of huge old “ umbrella trees ” , the aptly named “ Sea View ” Restaurant is open from 7 a.m. until the magic hour of midnight. Here, you can feast on deliciously cooked and elegantly served meals selected from a vast array of dishes from international and authentic Thai cuisine. You can add to the enjoyment of the meal by selecting from our excellent collection of wines and drinks.
You can also choose to stroll along the beach to dine alfresco at the elegant Rim Vimarn Restaurant at nearby “ Le Vimarn Cottages & Spa ” Resort. You may even enjoy a sample of Thai-Isarn food at another beach side cafe´ as well. All for your choosing.
Recreation
Your vacation can be as active or as peaceful as you desire. You can participate in beach volleyball or soccer. You can jog by sunset or sunrise or enjoy the following water sports. sailing, windsurfing, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving, canoeing or catamaraning. At night you can stroll along the beach and listen to the music at two or three of the other resorts on the beachfront.
